Mark Tweed

A hands-on and imaginative designer, Mark Tweed has an unbridled passion for nurturing the human spirit. Tweed co-founded H T H Architects as an architectural practice dedicated to creating dynamic architectural spaces that enrich the human experience by blending the best of traditional gathering places - refreshing water features, shade, fireplaces and public stages - with the best of today's retail entertainers. His clients benefit from an attention to detail at every level, from memorable exteriors and alluring graphics to pedestrian-scaled doorways and dramatic tenant lighting.

His previous work as with the Jerde Partnership and Johnson Fain Partners ignited Tweed's interest in creating retail spaces that attract customers and win the affinity of their communities.

Tweed has built an outstanding portfolio of large-scale projects that strategically integrate multiple components into cohesive and dynamic destinations. His experience includes planning, design and project supervision of more than $1 billion dollars of new and updated construction, including retail centers, entertainment facilities, visitor destinations, civic plazas, new and renovated streetscapes and mixed-use development. Such well publicized and successfull projects include Desert Ridge and Tempe Marketplace in Phoenix, Arizona, and Legends Retail Experience in the Kansas City Metro.

Approaching each project individually, Tweed thoroughly researches options for design and renovation and project how each solution would work within the community.  He personally oversees projects from conception through completion. His expertise extends through every aspect of the design process including programming, concept development, master planning, schematic design, final design and construction documentation.

Tweed previously served as Director of Design for MCG Architecture, elevating the firm's architectural standards and design commissions. He designed a number of the firm's most prestigious projects including the newly opened Galleria at Roseville, a 1.1 million square-foot retail and entertainment center near Sacramento; TrizecHahn's Fashion Outlet of Las Vegas and Cathedral City's $54 million Downtown Redevelopment and Entertainment Center. He also built a portfolio of award-winning store designs for SEE Optics; Los Angeles Sporting Club and Bernini's Off Rodeo Outlet Store.

A licensed architect, Tweed received his Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology.  He also studied art and architecture at L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and at Cambridge University's Architectural Association in London.
