Jane Housden

Jane Housden's artistic instincts, architectural capabilities and problem-solving expertise have attracted industry respect and built long-term client relationships. Housden joined with long-time collaborator Mark Tweed as a founding partner of HTH Architects in 2000, a preeminent design firm at the forefront of urban and suburban design and innovation. As managing partner, Housden brings quality standards to both the smooth running of the office as well as to the design and construction documents the firm produces and works with clients and contractors to earn entitlements, set schedules and budgets.

Housden has built an extensive portfolio of national architectural rollouts through her ability to translate a client's specific vision or corporate brand into multiple locations. Her resourcefulness and problem-solving skills enable her to manage multiple site studies and installations in multiple locations. She is especially adept in working with clients and city planners in developing design plans and standards that attract new growth while maintaining a community's specific architectural heritage. Housden enjoys working closely with Redevelopment agencies and City Planning Departments. A continuing renovation project in downtown Los Angeles is the historic Pacific Electric Lofts Building Retail. Housden is also right there with the fast growing senior housing sector of development; the Garden Grove Luxury Senior Apartments opening in 2008. Her latest roll out is the WingStop Restaurant franchise. Current renovation projects include the ongoing Marketplace Center commercial development for the Uhlmann Offices in Visalia, California involving exterior renovation, tenant improvement work, new drive through pad buildings and Food Court and Uhlmann's sister project in Fullerton.

Prior to co-founding HTH Architects in 2000, Housden served as a Project Director with MCG Architecture. During her four years with MCG's Beverly Hills office, Housden managed more than 300 million dollars of new and renovated retail and hospitality projects including two of the hottest, fastest growing and closely watched companies of the late nineties: Krispy Kreme restaurant franchises in Southern California. While managing MCG's Hospitality Practice Housden managed close to a thousand site studies and the construction of 50 Extended Stay America hotels in California, Nevada and Arizona. Each location and design reflects ESA's quality standards for business travelers.

Housden began her career in Canada preparing plans for multiple and single family housing. She went on to serve as a designer and Project Architect for WZMH Group, an internationally known architectural firm. It was with WZMH that Housden was involved on numerous resort and urban hotel projects and mixed use Projects.

Housden is a registered Architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Housden holds a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Texas. She has received awards in a number of architectural competitions and an American Institute of Architects Young Architect Award.
